Growing up, everything was a competition to him. Any kind of sport, board games/video games, academics, you name it, he did it and always wanted to win. In high school he played football for four years, ran track for two and played tennis for two. In football he literally never came off the field playing offense, defense, and every special teams unit. In his years of track he set the pace at 4:45 for the 1600m run though only a freshman. In tennis he played in the #1 spot and gave his school its first birth in the IHSA state playoffs becoming the first player for Marion High School to qualify. He continued into college, playing collegiate football at Wheaton College in Chicago.
Through his experience as a starting cornerback and punt returner he learned to hone his skills and to perform well under pressure. More importantly, from his coaches and his peers he learned about how being a good sporting competitor carries over to everyday life. He realized that the dedication, perseverance, and will to succeed, that he had employed to have success on the field of competition, were the very things that would make him a successful businessman, a loyal friend, and eventually, a good father.
Micah is a seeker of knowledge. This desire for knowledge has made him quite the traveler and adventurer. Though he is still young he has been able to experience much of the world. After his senior year of high school he spent two months backpacking Europe. He visited England, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and the Czech Republic. In College, he attended a mission trip to Senegal Africa where he worked at an orphanage for two weeks and was struck by the joy he saw among such poverty.
It was this same adventurous spirit post college that led him to accept a job selling concrete placement equipment throughout India. During his time there he experienced many new things: prodigious wealth inequality, India’s colorful diversity, the beauty of Nepal and the Himalayas, a trip to the base camp of Mt. Everest, and a visit to the extravagant Middle Eastern city of Dubai. Now he lives in Hawaii, and on a weekly basis enjoys the beautiful places the island offers. In the real estate profession, this knowledge-seeking trait, has led him to spend much of his pursuing realtor designations and certifications. The pursuit of these credentials is exciting to him because he knows the advantage this understanding will give his clients.
Micah currently has his SRS (sellers representative specialist) designation and is working towards his GRI (graduate realtor institute) as well as a few more. Whether it is in the real estate office, a foreign country, the base camp of Mt. Everest, or a surfboard in Hawaii, Micah seeks understanding that will enrich both his life and the lives of those around him.
Micah is a listener. Relationally speaking, he understands listening to be of utmost importance and enjoys hearing what motivates others as well as what they value. Listening is something he has learned to do well in his relationships with his friends and family because they taught him by example. He was blessed to grow up in a community of good listeners and learned quickly the value of taking the time to understand others. In real estate, this is proving to be a very valuable asset. As a good listener, he is able to fully understand the needs and desires of his clients, which enables him to provide them with exactly the service they are looking for. Getting to know his clients and their needs is his first priority.
Whatever your real estate goals may be, Micah is willing and equipped to help you achieve them. With over 5 million in closed sales his first calendar year and a nomination for West Hawaii Association of Realtors Rookie of the Year, he is thankful for the role he has been able to play in achieving his clients’ goals. Micah is enthusiastic and enjoys life, especially life here on the Big Island and looks forward to the opportunity to share it with you.
