Barefoot Luxury at Timber’s Kauai

A few weeks ago, some of the LUVA Broker & Management team traveled to Kauai for a weekend of barefoot luxury in the newly developed Timbers Kauai located within the 450-acre Hokuala resort on Kauaiʻs south east shore. Timbers Kauai is a collection of luxurious oceanfront residences offering whole or fractional ownership opportunities as well as vacation getaways. We experienced some of the best of what Timbers has to offer, and lets just say…it was hard to leave.

The amenities are world class. From the moment we arrived the warm inviting Timberʻs team treated us like we were part of their Ohana. Timbers is a place for an active lifestyle person and for those looking to sit back and relax during their stay. All within a short walking distance from the residences are the beach and keiki clubs, spa, restaurant and bar, fitness center, infinity pool with stunning ocean views, an ohana pool with a waterfall, sunset fire pit lounge, activities lawn and a Jack Nicklaus signature golf course which features the longest stretch of oceanfront golf on all of Hawai’i.

Our group stayed in a Kaiholo Residences – a four-bedroom two-story villa overlooking the Pacific. Located just steps outside our residence was access to 13 miles of walking and biking trails showcasing the beauty of the grounds, including Timber’s very own organic farm. We took a sunny walk along the trail to nearby Kalapaki Beach, a large sandy beach perfect for swimming, sunbathing, paddle boarding and surfing. If you are looking to explore outside of Hokuala, let the on-site adventure guides help you plan your activities from surfing to hiking through a tropical rainforest. Timbers Kauai features the hyper-local on-site restaurant, Hualani, we were lucky enough to dine at multiple times throughout the weekend. In addition to delicious locally sourced fish seared to perfection, creative cocktails, and many farm-fresh ingredients, one of our favorite elements of the restaurant was the live music and hula dancing.

During our stay it just so happened that the Hawaiian Islands had extreme weather, dangerous winds, heavy rains and even a blizzard warning for Hawai’I Island. While we were there, we had one day of sunny Kauai weather, followed by a day of rain and wind.  Lucky for us during our rainy day in, the Timbers cultural team had prepared a lei making class which they offer to members in addition to other cultural programs such as ukulele lessons and nature activities

The real estate featured within the resort provides luxurious comfort with each of the 47 (and growing) residences. In our Kaiholo residence there were expansive floor to ceiling windows, a beautifully appointed kitchen with designer appliances and custom wood cabinetry, natural stone vanities, spacious walk-in closets and laundry room, hardwood floors throughout and a master bedroom with a deep soaking tub. The residence is “sea inspired” with shades of blues throughout the home. In our residence, The Timbers team had arranged for pupus and wine, with welcome gift bags full of touches from Kauai. They stocked the kitchen for us with some essentials like locally grown and roasted coffee, honey from the farm, and other locally made goodies.

Kaiholo Residences can be purchased fractionally for 1/6 fractional ownership with prices starting at $955,000, but are subject to change. For whole ownership, the Kaiholo Residences currently start at $6,249,000. Both ownership types include Membership in the Hokuala Club, Timbers Collection and Timbers Reciprocity Program. The Kaiholo Residences are just one of the options available, there are also the Maliula Residences and Laola Townhomes. The Maliula Residences are contemporary, and island inspired and are offered in 1/12 interest, as well as whole ownership. The residences feature a spacious single level residence layout with three bedroom and three private lanais each with stunning views. There are white oak hardwood floors in the living room and kitchen, and you will love the custom white oak wood cabinetry, river white granite countertops, and high-end appliances. Continuing with the natural “sea inspired theme” you will find natural stone vanities in the bathrooms. The kitchens are equipped with Bosch & Thermador appliances aa and feature relaxing interiors with greyed wood and white oak flooring, silver iridescent stone tile, and glass, shell-like tile. Views are stunning here as well and can be enjoyed from one of the at least three lanais in each residence. The Maliula residences currently begin at $445,000 for 1/12 interest and $3,990,000 for whole ownership.
