Each month we highlight one of our LUVA Real Estate Agents in our Agent Spotlight! This month we are featuring Germaine Hopkins, Oʻahu and Hawaiʻi Island Realtor.
Germaine Hopkins joined LUVA Real Estate in January 2021. Not only does Germaine have extensive experience working as a real estate agent but she also has a background working in escrow and lending. Real estate is very service-driven and task-oriented, both of which Germaine has been doing from the very early stages of her career in escrow and then for 17 years in lending. Germaine services clients on Oʻahu as well as Hawaiʻi Island. She understands that real estate is one of the most important investments in everyone’s life and she truly loves helping people realize their dreams of homeownership. For Germaine, the best part of working in real estate is helping families make their dreams come true, commenting that “it’s rewarding to see them obtain something that is the most important commodity, especially in Hawaiʻi.”
For Germaine, one of the fascinating things about real estate is that every transaction is unique. She remembers getting a referral from a lender who asked her to meet with her clients to list their homes. She warned her that the three previous agents were fired! Germaine and the client had an instant connection and two houses later, they still keep in touch.
Born and raised on Oʻahu, Germaine enjoys cultivating and preserving the beautiful traditions of Hawaiʻi. She has been involved with hālau hula for nearly thirty years. They do a lot of community functions island-wide and outreach to senior homes, especially during the holidays. They try to educate the younger generation to preserve and perpetuate the Hawaiian culture which Germaine feels is imperative to maintain the aloha spirit and is one of the reasons why people want to live and own a home in Hawaiʻi.
In her free time, she spends time with her family and friends and tries to attend all of her kid’s activities. She also tries to squeeze in crafting, which is her favorite pastime at home.
