Agent Spotlight: Susie Kimhan

Susie Kimhan was born and raised locally on Oahu and has been a licensed Realtor for 20 years. A proud University of Hawaii graduate, Susie’s Design and Merchandising, and Marketing degrees are cornerstones of her approach to real estate. Embracing social media, staging each listing, and utilizing professional photography and video all work together to maximize exposure and yield the best offers. More importantly, Susie believes in the power of investing in real estate, and the ability it

has to change lives. Prior to real estate, Susie was a flight attendant with United Airlines based in San Francisco and New York and met her husband, Miles, on a flight. He owned a mortgage company and was flipping homes at the time. Susie said that he wanted to open a real estate company and have her work and train for his team. She said the rest was history and that she loved real estate ever since. Together, Susie and her husband have flipped over 70 properties. His financial expertise in their own investments has immensely expanded Susie’s knowledge of the lending process, which puts her clients further at ease during the complicated road of home buying.

Susie loves the relationships that she forms while working in real estate and loves working with people. She said that she always has worked in sales and majored in marketing and being a Realtor gives her the freedom to do both – go out and meet people and market homes at the same time. She said, “our job is so great, we get to change families’ lives, help to give them a fresh start in a new home, or downsize to a home they may need to transition to. Also, we teach our clients how to invest in real estate for their future!”

Like all Realtors, the beginning of our careers can have some embarrassing moments. Susie remembers that when she first started selling real estate, she took her buyers who are now her good friends to a showing. They were her first clients. They went to a home in Kaneohe and the owner met her at the door and she told him that they were there to see his him. There was no For Sale sign on the property (which does happen sometimes) and the owner proceeded to let them into his home, as if it were for sale. He told them all about his plants and his upgrades. The buyers really liked the home. Then his daughter came home and seemed confused and told them that they were in fact NOT selling their home. Susie and her clients apologized and left, realizing that they were touring the wrong home. They laugh about it today, but Susie says she can’t believe how naive it was for her to do this!

A consistent top producer, Susie routinely receives various client service awards. Among them, she has been chosen as one of Honolulu Magazine’s, “Best in Real Estate” for 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. She is a member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR), Honolulu Board of Realtors (HBR), holds accreditations as a member of Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and a Buyer’s Representative (ABR). A Kailua resident, Susie loves the outdoors – hiking, biking and walking the beautiful beaches in her community. She also spends her free working out at the gym and shopping. But her favorite indulgence is traveling the world with her family. She loves to travel to Japan, Europe, and Las Vegas. Witnessing other locales, cultures and traditions are what inspires her to appreciate the beauty of Hawaii, and to continue to help others find their home there. She also spends her free time hiking, walking, working out at the gym, shopping, and beach days!
