Oahu Spotlight: Ko Olina Beach

We recently asked LUVA Agents what their favorite beach spot was for a fun sun-filled beach day! Read on to find out about Sara Kimhan’s favorite beach, Ko Olina Beach.

If you’re looking for your next relaxing beach spot on Oahu then you must visit Ko Olina Beach. Ko Olina Beach on the west coast of Oahu is a beautiful crescent-shaped beach surrounded by tropical foliage. The sand is soft, and the water is warm and calm, making it perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and other water activities. Lifeguards are on duty, and there are restrooms and showers available. Ko Olina is made up of several lagoons.

The main attraction of Ko Olina Beach is its stunning lagoon waters. The shallow sheltered waters remain relatively calm. The sandy bottom and lack of strong currents or large waves make it ideal for young children. Snorkelers can see an assortment of tropical fish swimming around coral in the lagoon. Many visitors float or swim in the warm crystal clear water, enjoying the sounds of the gentle surf and tropical birds.

Ko Olina Beach is part of the luxurious Ko Olina Resort. There are golf courses, several upscale hotels, and a shopping center located within the resort. However, Koolina Beach remains open to the public and does not require any fees. One of my personal favorite places to eat in the shopping center is Monkeypod Kitchen with their live music and delicious food. Overall Ko Olina Beach is a great spot for a relaxing day while soaking up the sun and enjoying the atmosphere of paradise in Hawaii.
